When Bramble first arrived, he pressed himself into the back corner of the kennel and wouldn't meet anyone's eye. He'd been found tied up and abandoned, painfully thin, flinching at sudden movement. Our team had seen it before — and we knew exactly where to begin.
The first 48 hours
Every rescue starts the same way: warmth, water, a quiet space, and a full veterinary assessment. Bramble was dehydrated and had an untreated wound on his leg. Within hours, our vet team had him stable, fed and resting on a soft bed for what may have been the first time in his life.

Weeks of patient care
Over the following weeks, Bramble moved into a foster home — a calmer environment where he could decompress away from kennels. His foster carer reported tiny victories: a wagging tail, a first walk without panic, the day he chose to rest his head on a knee.

Six months after he arrived, Bramble trotted out of our doors with a family who'd fallen for his gentle eyes. He now has a sofa he's definitely not allowed on (and is always on), and a garden he patrols like it's his life's work.
